Finally Friday!!
Madi is in this mood where she doesn't want her picture taken. I know, she's two. When she sees the camera pointed at her she runs away yelling. Little stinker. And I really want to get some new pictures of her taken, but I can only imagine that it would be a total waste of time for the photographer. So, the other night she was outside playing and I put my big lens on my camera. I just followed her around from a distance while she played and was able to get some pretty good pictures.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. It's going to be another lazy one around here with Chris taking it easy. He better be ready to go next weekend though...I'm ready to go to the lake! Fireworks for my birthday this year!!

Last Wednesday, before the storm hit, the guy doing our dirt work finally came out and got the pile of dirt moved from behind the house. It looks so nice now. We had him move it to the south side of the house. He smoothed it all out so we could build our shed there and its about the same height as the house so the water won't run into it. Very exciting. Our to-do-list is growing, but at least we are now working on our own time limit, not waiting for someone else. As soon as Chris' back starts feeling better we are going to get the shed built and the concrete pad poured out back, deck built, and finish the basement.
Last Saturday we went to Chris' Uncle John's house for a barbecue. They have a pool and Madi has been wanting to swim for awhile now. She absolutely had the time of her life. She was in the pool for about 3 hours. Her water wings kept her head above water and she got so comfortable that she started to get upset if you held her. She wanted to swim on her own. She even started jumping in by herself. Which was very surprising because she freaks out in the bathtub when you pour water over her head. But she loved it and it didn't bother her a bit.

Everything is okay in Salina after another wild nights of storms on Wednesday. The sirens went off in Salina 11 times that night. We received a lot of wind, rain, and hail. As a result, I no longer have internet again and Chris has been terribly busy making service calls and repairing torn down services.
We are at the shop today getting our vehicles and work equipment ready to go to Chapman this week. Chris made a trip there yesterday to see what needed to be done. The town received a lot of damage. Chris had just been hired a week ago to do some work for the school district there. And all of there buildings were damaged from the tornado. So, his original job there has now changed. We really aren't sure exactly what they are wanting us to do at this point (they don't really know yet either) but he is getting ready for a long busy week in Chapman.
We were going to take Chris to the zoo today and go to a car show they were having there, but plans changed and we didn't make it. (Sorry Andrea for not getting back with you on this one, we will have to do a trip soon!)
I have a bunch of pics and fun things to talk about from this past week. I will update again once I get my internet service back.

Getaway
Thursday afternoon we had some bad weather around here again. The tv news and the radio news weren't all that helpful at predicting what was going on. They were saying that on radar it looked like tornadoes in Ellsworth and Brookville but no confirmed spots and blah, blah, blah. I don't do storms very well especially when I am home by myself. And since I really wasn't sure what was going on and looking outside the clouds were doing funny things and it looked scary, Madi and I sat in the storm shelter for about a half hour just on the safe side. She was content as could be. We played shadow puppets on the wall with the flash light and ate almost a whole can of Pringles. I guess I eat when I get nervous...that's a bad habit. Oh well, we were safe and nothing really came out of the storm but really strong winds and rain and a little hail. By 7:00 it had cleared off and was nice outside. We went outside to sit on the porch and Madi found our mini lake in the drive. And Daddy let her play in it....
She was totally soaked and covered in mud and had the time of her life. I'm trying to get better about my obsession of staying clean. Big step that night!!
Not much else going on, we are all totally exhausted and ready for bed.
